How to Come Prepared to Closing
When you get to the point where all parties are ready to come to the closing date, there are a few things to remember to make it smoothly:
- For the actual closing:
- All parties should bring their drivers license.
- Buyers should make sure their check is a certified or cashiers check. These checks take some time to get from the bank and most banks require you to go in person so make sure to leave enough time to do so.
- Ask your realtors for guidance as to when to cancel utilities as each municipality and situation is different.
- Sellers should bring keys, garage doors, codes, etc. to closing.
